Diminutive, stylish internet radio & streaming adapter for a hi-fi system
A stylish and compact unit which does exactly what you need to get streaming audio and internet radio on your hi-fi. The Air Studio app works fine and once you realise that the wi-fi set up can only be achieved by literally the shortest button press, it's a doddle to install. In my opinion it gives good sound, hardly audiophile but fine given the source quality. I do think it's rather expensive given that it is a plastic box with a wafer thin aluminium top - I'd have paid more for a solid all aluminium case and then it would really look the business. The user guide is fairly hopeless but the app does have help so once you've worked out how to get to the useful pages you're ok. It would have been nice to have a LAN cable included and a DAB tuning function would be nice. All in all I'm very pleased with the performance and I'd recommend prospective buyers to consider the Fidelio A1.

Good features but...
The App is slow, looks dated and not very responsive. An overhaul of the App could make this a Five Star product.
It takes a long time to power on, its not very clear if it is on, off or on standby.
Sometimes, after using my phone, i go back into the App, and it has to re-scan and find the box, and sometimes interupts the play.

great idea - poor execution
A neat idea... and its nicely presented and packed.. but then the disappointment sets in.
For a start, no user manual is provided.. and not even a card suggesting a visit to a web page. There is however a poorly written quick set up guide. This provides zero help if things dont go as though should. They didnt for me...it took ages and was very frustrating.
Its worth noting that the UK mains adaptor seems out of spec..not making reliable contact with any of the 4 wall outlets it was tried in that are fine for everything else.
The phone app is not that easy either, you're left wondering how many people Philips tested this out with..Fingers crossed for a reworked update. Doesnt seem to have an A-Z shortcut or search..lots of scrolling! Its also very slow to act taking ages for tracks to "load".. and crashes at random on my iphone. In use the music drops out at random :-( This happens so much even when in good wireless range I'm wondering if my unit is faulty.
