When treating congenital heart disease, workflow standardization and streamlining help boost efficiency, save time, and enhance teamwork. The Azurion CHD suite was designed to integrate information from multiple sources and save procedure time through flexible and user-centric display and control options. By adapting to your workflow needs, the system works seamlessly around you so that you may focus on your patient. The Azurion platform also benefits from drastic radiation reduction specifically tuned for pediatric patients1, 2, 3.

Vessel navigator video thumbnail

VesselNavigator

VesselNavigator provides live image guidance to help navigating vascular structures based on high resolution diagnostic CT or MRI reconstructions and segmentations. It is designed to be intuitive and easy to use by providing step-by-step workflow guidance as well ring landmarks to indicate the location of ostia, landing zones, or optimal projection angles.

In the example above, VesselNavigator is used to mark the landing zone as well as to visualize the distance to the left subclavian artery ostium during stenting of a coarctation of the aorta.

HeartNavigator

HeartNavigator is a CT planning and live guidance solution using automatic heart model segmentation. It facilitates procedure planning, provides confidence before entering the examination room by having planning information at hand, and adds the ability to overlay planned targets, landing zones, and anatomical boundaries onto live fluoroscopy.

In the example above, HeartNavigator is used to segment and visualize aorto-pulmonary collaterals in a 1-day old child with Tetralogy of Fallot. These segmentations can then be used as fluoroscopic overlays to facilitate navigation and reduce contrast injections.

EchoNavigator video thumbnail

EchoNavigator

EchoNavigator reorients and combines ultrasound and X-ray information into a single augmented visualization for guidance and device-tissue relationship assessment. It enables:

  • Importing ultrasound targets or critical structures as fluoroscopic annotations
  • Live-on-live fusion of both modalities including 2D, 3D, and color flow
  • ECG-gated dynamic segmentation of cardiac structures for view optimization and orientation
  • Flexible workspots at both tableside and on the EPIQ CVxi console

In the video above, courtesy of Dr. Jone, Colorado Chidren’s Hospital, the different features of EchoNavigator are illustrated during a mitral balloon valvuloplasty procedure.

SmartCT Angio & SmartCT Roadmap video thumbnail

SmartCT Angio & SmartCT Roadmap

SmartCT brings the power of 3D rotational angiography at your fingertips:

  • Facilitate your rotational angiography workflow with step-by-step guidance including room layout diagrams, customizable acquisition and injection protocols, iso-centering and setup guidance, and acquisition timing feedback.
  • Benefit from intuitive control on the touch screen to avoid breaking sterility and easily interact with images, perform analyses, and define overlays in a natural and effortless way.
  • Generate insights through advanced CT-like 3D tools such as semi-automatic vessel analysis. After specifying the start and end of each vascular segment of interest it provides in seconds straight and curved reformats, automatic diameter measurements along the vessel centerlines, and allows landing zone marking to easily specify positioning targets as well undeployed stent lengths.

4 Evaluated with clinical users in a simulated lab environment with a total of 17 teams consisting of a physician and a radiotech, and 1 physician without a radio-tech, with different levels of experience.

5 Results obtained during user demonstrations performed in December 2017 with the EPIQ CVx and the iE33 systems. The research was designed and supervised by Use- Lab GmbH, an independent and objective engineering consultancy and user interface design company. The tests involved 42 clinicians from 17 countries.
